Another Year: Older, Wiser, and More Fucking Awesome than Ever!

So, today I celebrate my 34th birthday!

And I am in Sighisoara, Romania....

With my man, (also his birthday) having the time of our lives.

It's funny how things change. As we get older, our birthdays get less and less exciting. We don't WANT to get older. We don't WANT to change.

But, when I really think about it, if I didn't grow, if I didn't change, I would have NEVER had the adventure that I am having now.

I have oft referred to the year 2010-2011 as "the Year of Awesome." Well, if that is so, then the year 2011-2012 SHOULD be referred to as "the Year of More Fucking Awesome."

Growing and learning over the past two years has profoundly changed my life. Who would have thought that I would be homeless, (essentially) jobless, (truly) and having the time of my life exploring the world. I always WANTED to do it, but until I really BELIEVED that I actually COULD do it, I never thought it would happen.

So getting older has some definite benefits. Sure, I can't hold my alcohol like I used to. Yes, it's true that I like to go to bed early and wake up early. And, it's true that I don't have that awesome flat tummy that I took completely for granted in college.

BUT....

I do have the wisdom that time has imparted on me. I have people that love and care about me. I have jolly adventures every day.

I have less things and more freedom.

Less stress and more happiness.

I have less money, yet am wealthy in worldly experiences.

I'd say, its pretty awesome to be turning 34. Pretty fucking awesome.
