14 Cent Beer in Vietnam is not a Myth
I had HEARD that beer was cheap in Vietnam, but after the insane cheapness of beer in countries like Cambodia and Laos, I really expected it to be about the same.
You see, we were spending about 50 cents per local beer in these countries and we thought that was a killer deal.
Until we got to Vietnam....
Don't let the sign in the photos fool you. All those zeros mean practically nothing to the US dollar. In fact, what it boils down to is that a cold, fresh, local Vietnamese brew costs only 14 cents for about half a pint.
14 cents, people.
And not only that, the local beers are served cold and crisp. They have a slightly grainy sediment at the bottom of the glass, but STILL are well well worth the 14 cent price tag.
Do you like decent, cheap, cold beer on a hot summer day? Well, head to Hoi An, Vietnam without haste. You will not regret it!
